Takeover 2011: Saturday October 15th
Oxjam Brecon Takeover will be back on Saturday, October 15th 2011 to form part of Oxfam’s UK-wide, month-long Oxjam Music Festival. This will be our third year, building on the success of last year’s event.

We would also like to thank the incredible musicians who come to play at Oxjam Brecon – for free. Without your help and our amazing team of volunteers all this simply wouldn’t be possible.
We focus exclusively on original music for our takeover day but covers bands are most welcome at our many pre-events. We aim to showcase the best in new music from Wales and nearby with a good representation of our own local music scene and it seems to work.
Oxjam Brecon Takeover kicks off at 1.15 on the 15th October and goes through to the wee small hours with our infamous after party. With 50 acts set to perform, the line up includes some of the country’s most exciting established and up and coming bands and solo artists, playing 5 stages throughout the town in aid of Oxfam GB. This year we have 5 great venues in the middle of town; The George Hotel, Theatr Brycheiniog, The Gremlin, The Markets Tavern and The Northcote Con Club. 
Oxjam Brecon will be packed with original solo artists and bands like Revoker, The Last Republic, Under The Driftwood Tree, Pamela Wyn Shannon, Sunday Recovery, The Undivided, Talking Endlessly, Innovence plus many more !!

Tickets for this amazing line up of nearly 50 acts are just £7 and will be exchanged on the day for a wristband that will gain entry to all 5 venues. Oxjam is Oxfam’s month-long music festival. It runs all through October with hundreds of events around the UK, all organised by volunteers who know and love their local music scene, all raising money to save lives around the world.
